Classic example of British elitists making baseless claims about their "superior intelligence".
Nothing about that article indicates that they don't understand "British understatement", it merely points out that Top Gear is one of the few shows that can actually get away with advertising like that.

Agreed. Not much that comes out of his mouth should be taken too seriously. I just think it is funny that he takes that opportunity to make a joke about Americans being clueless, when it appears he is the one that doesn't seem to grasp what is going on.
